Frustrated by patterns not fitting? Always too tight here, too loose there? Body Blue Print is the perfect introduction to pattern cutting. Spend four days with Caroline and her pattern cutter, creating a block (blue print of your body) according to your own unique measurements, develop it into a dress pattern of your design, and then make a toile.

We will also discuss different body shapes and design possibilities to suit you and your personality, enabling you to express yourself and develop your style, your way!

Bring with you to the workshop magazine cuttings or sketches of a design in mind. You will come away with the best fitting garment you’€™ve ever had – ready to make again and again!

The workshop starts each day at 10am and finishes at 5pm at the Sew La Di Da Sewing School, located at the Lyme Regis Town Mill.

The cost for the workshop is £280 per person for 2017 dates, this includes 4 days of tuition (accommodation not included). Students will leave the workshop with a bespoke dressmaking pattern and toile.

Bring your own fabric, or we have perfect fabrics available from £7 per metre. Toile fabric is not included but may be bought at class at a reasonable price. Sew La Di Da Students receive a 10% discount on all dressmaking fabrics purchased at the workshop.

Spaces are limited so please don’t hesitate to book your place.

This workshop is suitable for confident sewists with some dressmaking experience.

I attended the body blue print workshop, Caroline was extremely welcoming. The workshop followed a good pace and the tuition from Caroline was excellent. I really learnt a lot, I started from being entirely home taught but came away with a garment that had a professional finish. Caroline and Frankie were helpful throughout and there was no such thing as a stupid question. I came away feeling more confident and inspired to carry on sewing. I will definitely be back to learn more!!

A workshop experience to endorse. The most worthwhile time I have spent re- learning something I used to have a passion for. Inspired and re- ignited by Frankie and Caroline.

I have been coming to sewing classes with Caroline for nearly three years. She is an inspirational designer, with a great eye for what looks good, so has helped me to turn all sorts of scraps of fabric into wonderful garments. She is also an excellent teacher, and somehow manages to keep us all busily making our different projects at once. I have been on two of Caroline’s workshops, the Body Blueprint (absolutely brilliant) and perhaps best of all, a wedding-dress workshop where I helped my sister to make her daughter’s wedding dress. Unforgettable!

I had made a few passably-fitting items before this workshop, but struggled to find and adapt commercially-available patterns to fit my somewhat giantess-like figure. Caroline & Frankie really helped me understand the pattern cutting and design process and after four very enjoyable and informative days I finally have the skills to make a tailored shirts and dresses that actually FIT!

My lightbulb moment was seeing every person on the course looking noticeably better in a cream well fitted toile than they looked in their own clothes. Thank you Caroline and Frankie.

Thank you Caroline and Frankie for the most amazing workshop, truly inspirational. I attended the workshop not knowing what to expect but left with 3 patterns for well fitting garments, increased confidence and have met a lovely group of ladies. I would do the workshop again and whole heartedly recommend the course to sewists battling with the sizing of commercial patterns.
